This role will provide hand-on leadership for architecture and solution development efforts for Enterprise Data Services function of the organization, reporting to the VP of Enterprise Architecture, Data and Application Services. The role will oversee and participate in execution of defined capabilities around the enterprise data lifecycle of central and distributed enterprise data solutions.

This role will provide hand-on leadership for architecture and solution development efforts for Enterprise Data Services function of the organization, reporting to the VP of Enterprise Architecture, Data and Application Services. The role will oversee and participate in execution of defined capabilities around the enterprise data lifecycle of central and distributed enterprise data solutions.

Team members may include contractors, consultants, and full-time employees. This is an enterprise wide role and will need to partner on other teams within IT to supply necessary capabilities to fulfill outcomes and goals and will thus need to be able to manage informally as well as formally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical architecture and development teams across the enterprise data services and systems ensuring quality, timeliness, alignment to business requirements, and budget compliance
  • Develop and implement future-state enterprise data platform and architecture, standard processes, patterns, best practices, and methods used to advance IT and business strategy.
  • Contribute to strategic roadmap and technical direction of data and information management, including governance, security, tools, and solutions architecture with peer solution development teams.
  • Communicate all architecture and technical decisions, issues and risks to IT Leadership and manage technical dependencies within or external to service delivery.
  • Contribute to and participate in Architecture Review Board to ensure sound solutions.
  • Explain and document the architecture and / or other technical changes required, as well as associated benefits, to a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Review and own technical deliverables from resources assigned to service and solution delivery.
  • Support and actively collaborate with IT vision of technical eco-system in alignment with Enterprise Architecture policy, standards, and guiding principles
  • Contributes to designing systems and solutions in alignment with company vision while creating a bridge between technology and business teams
  • Contributes to and executes on technical roadmaps to modernize, enhance, and support the data systems and application development tools

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Management, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.
  • 8+ years leading enterprise data solutions functions.
  • 5+ years leading technology development teams
  • Strong capabilities in enterprise systems, data architecture, governance, and cloud-based ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of data integration services and architectures

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA or Master of Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with life/annuity and financial services company operations.
  • Experience with a cloud or hybrid platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with data and integration tools such as Informatica, Mulesoft SSIS, Python, SQL Server, Oracle or similar.

  • Ability to effectively operate in support of a complex investment risk, hedging or derivative valuation business domain.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps and modern application development tools, and languages

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Office work environment; use of computer for extended periods whilst sitting; the flexibility to travel about 10%.
