Software Architect - DevOps

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect with an appreciation for Databases / DevOps join a reputable & leading software house based just outside of Cambridge. This business has been specialising in their field for over 20 years and are currently going through another period of growth.

As the Software architect you will be responsible for ensuring the architecture of their solutions meets the needs of both the customers & development teams. The goal of their work is to enable customers to bring the database into their DevOps pipeline, allowing the confident automation of deployments & bringing maximum effectiveness / efficiency to their users.

You will be responsible for creating architecture that allows the company to expand their product portfolio across databases whilst continuing to invest in current tools. To do this you will work within the tech leadership group consisting of a Snr Product Manager & Lead Product Designer, you will contribute the technical perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies & approach's to turn business needs into code
  • Innovation - research future trends to help develop business strategy
  • Help to bridge the gap between technical and non technical teams

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge around the build and design of large systems. Their tech stack is primarily Microsoft so any experience around C#, .NET would be beneficial.
  • You will be experienced in working with all levels from whiteboard design solutions, to working with the developers on code
  • You will be an effective communicator and be confident in leading teams
  • A deep understanding around continuous delivery is important - any experience around databases (SQL) is hugely advantageous
  • You will have experience delivering products & evolving architectural requirements as the products scale.

Paying up to £90k plus a generous package this role is fully remote until at least July next year with a flexible working pattern from then. Some office work will be required after July so you must be a commutable distance from Cambridge.
