Job Description

National hiring project for an established carrier.

The ideal candidate has a background in professional liability underwriting. Looking for hands on experience in Miscellaneous Professional Liability i.e. Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers, Insurance agents, Consultants, Lawyers, Architects and Engineers, Design Professionals, etc. Candidates handling blended accounts (Tech E&O, Cyber) are encouraged to apply.

Ideally, applicants have 5+ years experience in the professional liability space. Compensation is flexible.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the MPL Product Head to grow competitive the Professional Lines product line
  • Underwrite accounts within the Commercial E&O vertical, including blended accounts (tech E&O, Cyber)
  • Organically grow book utilizing retail distribution
  • Market and collaborate with brokers to win new business
  • Analyze insurance applications, assess risks, and determine appropriate coverage level and premium rates.
  • Review and evaluate underwriting documents, such as policy forms, endorsements, and claims data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with the claims and legal departments to solve underwriting issues and provide accurate assistance regarding coverage interpretation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and market trends to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and internal teams to provide exceptional customer service and address any underwriting inquiries or concerns.

Key Skills

  • Extensive experience in Professional Liability underwriting
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and coverage options related to E&O, MPL, LPL, and A&E.
  • Strong analytic skills to assess risks, evaluate underwriting documents, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite.
